Digital Copies Of 1620 Ono Oshigata Scrolls Available

My apologies to the membership; my previous post was uncharacteristic and unnecessary drama on my part. I've always disliked such scenes when I've seen it done elsewhere, and I'm unhappy with myself for having given in to the impulse to do something similar.

 

A lot of the members here worked on he Nakamura oshigata translations, and are working on the Ono scrolls, as a real community effort. It's not for me to take their work and disappear.

 

The site is now back up; still requiring users log in to contribute, for the reasons previously described.

 

I'd also like to thank the members who posted notes of support. They are appreciated.

 

At this point though, I think it best that I step away from NMB for a while

It does NOT reflect the views of the members or myself. I don't think there is any reason to step back. Your posts are always valued and respected. I am sometimes in awe of the research and lengths you go to educate people and yourself. And the amount of effort people put into working on some of your projects is surely something that speaks volumes.
Look at the contribution by member "Go Yoshihiro" (who needs to at least give us a first name, and who has clearly put in a huge effort)
Trust me, if I withdrew from the forum every time someone out there got to me, the place would be down 20 hours out of every 24.
I've always said we are not doing this for the one or 2 people who seem critical, but the thousands that read and don't post, who are definitely getting something out of this.
Step back for a day, breathe, remember that there are thousands who appreciate your posts, and then carry on. They are just pixels out there..don't let them get to you.

I asked him to let me know in private. Not post it publicly. Perhaps you misread my request Guido. I have seen everything from abuse to death threats via pm here over the years. I would hope this one is a giant misunderstanding or just general argument, but need info in case there is a pattern or prior history.
Not a witch hunt at all...I am open minded about interpersonal relationships online and how sometimes people have a go at each other. Mostly it is just a case of move on and ignore it. But I owe it to members or at least keep a record in case there is a vendetta or consistent pattern.

Brian is 100% correct. I'm the primary owner of e-budo.com, & have been forced to stop several vendettas in their tracks, which has included banning repeating offending member(s) as a last resort. This helps keep our members on track, relatively civil, & hopefully avoids the possibility of lawsuits.

Hi all. I'd like to just let this go. Looking back, I'm more upset at myself for making that post than anything else.

 

For many years I worked with victims of crime, government and the courts while running a small NGO. During that time I was the recipient of real hate mail; compared to that, comments from the peanut gallery are nothing. I was caught at a time of high personal stress and I severely overreacted when I normally would have (and should have) just laughed it off.

 

I'd take it as a kindness if we could put this behind us and move on.
