mareo1912 Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 Hey guys, I found a really nice blade for a good price, but I'm unsure with the boshi. You maybe got some useful information for a newbie? Thank you very much in advance! Quote
SAS Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 Not sure what you mean, that you are unsure of the boshi.....it is present, though it is unclear to me from the photo whether one side has been tampered with unprofessionally or is just obscured by patina. Either way, a trained togishi can fix it. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 Marco,as far as I can say from the photos, the BOSHI seems o.k., but the polish is damaged by scratches. Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 'Very quickly', the shape looks awkward, but that can be addressed by a polisher. So, then, you should explore as a newbie for the reasons why and how they might affect the sword from a collectors point a view. How and/or why does it look awkward? How will it look after being reshaped? In general, the boshi is a critical part of the sword requiring careful understanding and study of all the possible problems and flaws. Quote
Katsujinken Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 The yokote has seen better days, I think. Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted May 22, 2017 Report Posted May 22, 2017 In rough shape but seems OK from those pictures. Quote
