I was doing some shopping in my local 100 Yen shop (50p shop for all the Brits) and came across these - smoked bamboo knitting needles in a wide variety of mekugi-sized widths.

 

No more whittling down square chopsticks for me!

As they used to say in school.. "Did you bring enough for the whole class?" :D

Next time you are there, pick up a few extra packets. I am sure you will find a willing market here for a few.
