DirkO Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Noticed it as well this morning - I would say the NBTHK attribution is the safer one whereas Koson was stretching it a bit (not really convinced by the origami and kao either - very suspect) - also the sayagaki seems a bit sloppy at best. I don't think these should be taken into the equation to be honest. But leaving that aside - a very nice piece - one I immediately saved! 1 Quote
paulb Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 I agree with Dirk the Origami looks very strange for Kozon the kao especially looks off by some distance. Interesting that in one description it mentions Rai, Aoe and nio, as you say Jean kantei isnt easy. Although in this case I sort of feel the original attributiion was driven by optimism or a wish not to offend a wealthy patron. Quote
ggil Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 .94cm????? Quite an amazing blade with some DEEP bohi. A feat to forge and/or a lot of metal to chisel? The huge shape seems quite unique! Pretty damn hard to bend that! I wonder what the providence of the blade is? Quote
Katsujinken Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 This wouldn't be the first time that we have seen a fake Koson origami on Aoi (if it is in fact fake)... Quote
