I've just learned the sad news. I've never met Thierry in person but I bought some tsuba from him, and I could appreciate his extreme kindness. My condolences  to family and close friends. He will be missed for a long time.

Just noticed this thread. Damn, he was younger than me. This makes me sad and also thoughtful.....

Always a sad day when an active and serious collector passes. What a nice tribute to have so many friends expressing such fond memories. Ron STL

I am just back from Thierry's cremation. We were around 40 to accompany him in his last travel. I left a condolences message from all his NMB friends

I have only just come across this, so sad. I have my head in the sand here so much that I don't get to hear about stuff until someone tells me, or it is too late. My belated condolences, a fine gentleman and a scholar.

Would have been Thierry's Birthday today.
Happy Birthday Thierry our friend, we trust you are in a good place surrounded by wonderful tsuba and fittings, where there are no gimei and all the iron is excellent :)

I was looking at one of his papered tsuba yesterday (reference to the current post on papers) so he is never far fr4om me

I wish the best to all his birth and Nihonto family
