SalaMarcos Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Dear all, I found this with teh mei Kiyomitsu 清光, but there are so many schools and artists with this name... Could be one of the Bizen Osafune? I really don't know... and don't try asking me about hamon, hada... because the blade is a very bad condition... Any ideas? By the way, the tôsôgu doesn't help so much because it's bad quality. Quote
Geraint Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 don't try asking me about hamon, hada... because the blade is a very bad condition... So pretty much all you are left with is sugata. Get the habaki off and see if it is machi okuri. The nakago jiri is not Kaga so assuming it's ubu that rules them out. Nakago shape leads to Bizen so if the sugata says sue koto then you have a nijimei Kiyomitsu from Sue Bizen, not too much hope of narrowing that down in this condition I fear. All the best. Quote
John A Stuart Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 I do not think focusing on the two character signature is proof of anything on wakizashi. Many smiths sign so on short swords that had daimei on tachi/ katana. John Quote
