Now that ive sold most of the good books im in need of help(you all knew that was coming). Anyone have a clear oshigata of late Koto Kanemoto? esp Noshu Seki ju Kanemoto saku? Many thanks in advance if you can.

Yes, Kanemoto are numerous (more 20) but the oldest is (Akasaka) Kanemoto son of Kanemune. He was active since Bunan (1444) to Meio (1492).

"Kanemoto" What a great smith linage, all 4 of mine are o'suriage, from 1st generation to 3rd generation kanemoto (that is 2nd generation magaroku kanemoto), only have one signed tanto 'akasaka kanemoto seki', and not confident that it's a genuine signature, went to Japan for confirmation last week, will advise on appraisal results if any!

the research was in wondering about this board members Ebay auction, don't want to hawk it for Tim but feel that it may be older that what the papers says it is. Hope we don't need to move it to Ebay page but here's the link John in case you want to add it to your collection of Kanemoto, the mounts are a bit much but I like the possibility of what the blade has to offer.

thanks Brian, were getting closer here in ppl stepping forward, Tim's Kane kanji has three legs to the right and the first to the left, think the one Moriyama-sama posted for you is diff Kanemoto..thanks for showing.

looks like NTHK papers, harmon is similar to I have reference to, but somewhat enlarged, nakago close, maybe later generation?
