Still browsing for books and stumbled on this website.  Having some early stereo photos of Japan I embarked on a trawl through this website.  Its plain that there is A LOT to do with early Japanese photography.  A friend has a couple of very interesting early photo albums of Japan with those thick, board covers.

Another wonderful find Bazza! I particularly like Mt Fuji photo's and also the 2 photo's of Enami's studio from the street 100 years apart. All the best mate.

Thanks Bazza,

 

A quick way to see the stereoviews in 3D is to cross your eyes until you see 3 photos and concentrate on the centre one. Let your eyes relax and lock onto the image.

It will make your eye muscles feel like they have had a good workout after a while so don't overdo it.
