alex350gt Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Hello, I recently got this from a garage sale and was wondering if anyone could help me authenticate it. and what it would be worth? The sword has definitely seen better days, and the sheath is rusted. I saw a similar one on ebay for $500 but there was numbering on the sheath where it meets the sword. But Mine does not have that on the sheath, just numbering on the sword. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Quote
Julian Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Hello Alex its look like a fake chinese copy sorry Quote
Stegel Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 I agree, a reproduction. Some of these have the scabbard serial number on the drag. Either way, it is still a copy. Quote
Peter Bleed Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 hope it was a garage sale price. Peter Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 Hi guys, This is the second I have seen this week with the date on the blade, the one illustrated looks like and acid etch for the Showa Ju Ni Nen. The one I saw locally was stamped Showa Ju Nana Nen but did not have a serial number. Caveat Emptor!! Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 Fake but won't look too bad on display, unless one of us collectors comes around! Quote
