Dear Chris.

I find it hard to tell what the quality once was, this has had a hard life by the look of it.  I think the question is, does it make you go , "Wow!"  For me the answer is no.

All the best.

Honestly saying, i like the motif very much and the scene. And i think to purchase the kozuka if its worth to restore it and i know a fair price.

this Lot  ( auction lot or private?) is sorrowly VERY! ;-)  much overcleaned....

but well ?

i do like this motif, too- so if it´s cheap ? do take it and just enjoy...( better would be to give it to a professional so to let it restaurate in its lost patina and charm it once certainly possessed...not?)

considdering the workmanship now....

a standard todays goldsmith does take 70-80.- Euro per hour...

considdering this is a old thing + the modern guy certainly couldn´t do it ! ( do have an look on these modern metalwork "artists" spreading out like mushrooms...)

i would buy it, if the seller is not exaggerating in his price estimation of course....?

it is charming, it is nice- it is but ruined! of its past history....

what shall i say ?

it is still vivid... :)

200.-  250.- Euros ????
