reeder Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Picked up a Gunto w/ an older blade and have something new to study now. Just thought I'd share some pictures. Please excuse the poor photography skills. The nagasa is 27". 1 Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Interesting. Looks like a mumei shinshinto, soshu den blade. It might really be something in polish. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Looking at the NAKAGO, I guess it may be older than SHIN SHINTO, but that may be an effect of the photos. Shape looks like some KOTO TACHI to me, so I understand the assumption of SHIN SHINTO. Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Yup. I could always be wrong. I made the call more on the hamon. Seems a bit more flamboyant than koto work. Like I said, I could certainly be wrong. Quote
reeder Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 I was thinking soshu as well but late koto or Shinto. My pictures and lighting certainly do not help any. I'll try again in the other room. Quote
