Strange Saya Wrapping

Hello,

I have Mino Wakizashi which has strange wrapped Saya. It looks like a paper or thin fish skin with gold gildening..but looks it is prfectely made.

Guido probably knows this one's precise name, but it looks like a variation on Inro style, maybe something like inro maki nuri??.

I can't ell from the photo whether this is some sort of skin wrapping or a lacquer texture technique.  If is is a wrapping then the seam would usually be on the back and often marked by a thin line, is this so for yours?

Hello, looks like thin skin and it is white color on ends (where kurikata missing). Connection line is on the other side.

Looks like leather
