Gordon Sanders Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Here is a great piece on fakes in China... that can even stump the experts 3 Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Hmm, interesting, Gordon. It appears to be blocked in the U.S., with a note that it contains content from Al Jazeera. Ken Quote
Gordon Sanders Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 odd.. yes it is on the aljazerra channel, but 100% safe material. i am in HK and zero probs. let me ponder on how to solve this. it is a very good watch Quote
Gordon Sanders Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 how about this Click on the "watch on Vimeo" link Quote

Jean Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Fantastic Gordon and for once this one was authorized in France and not censured as it often happens with e-bay . 1 Quote
Dr Fox Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Thats not fair lol. Chinese new money being ripped off by Chinese forgers. Is there no justice in the world!! 2 Quote
John A Stuart Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 No problem watching Aljazeera, but, I can't watch SNL's Trump satire. What's up with that? One of the ways to identify fakes was the luminescence test, now that is able to be faked as well. John Quote
ROKUJURO Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Thank you for that link, Gordon! That was very interesting, although much of this forging 'industry' is know - not only in China, but also in Mexico and South America. Quote
Gordon Sanders Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 you are all welcome. After seeing how well the cast Dragon Daisho Tsuba (s) were made on the other thread, I thought that this was very relevent. Luckily to produce a nihonto is well out of the skill range of 99.99 percent. However at the other end of the spectrum is this.... Your brilliant Kickstarter idea could be on sale in China before you’ve even finished funding it 1 Quote
Greg F Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Both links are very interesting especially the video. Appreciate it thanks Gordan. Greg Quote
Shamsy Posted October 22, 2016 Report Posted October 22, 2016 More like terrifying. Thank goodness that militaria is not valuable enough for high end fakes (mostly) and nihonto for the most part are too difficult and expensive. 3 Quote
