What do you think of this blade ?

 

Nagasa : 34 cm

Sori : 4 mm

Moto kasane : 4.9 mm

Moto haba : 2. 8 cm

Kitae : itame with mokume hada. Steel is dark.

Hamon : sugu ha with nioideki. Bright nioiguchi. Ko maru bôshi with a long kaeri.

(The polishi is old and is not perfect)

I wonder if the Ha runs into the Nakago and if the part highlighted is possibly a sign of Suriage.

I agree with Carlo, at the level of the notch, nakago seems to slightly cave in.

 

Yasurime are kiri, indicating either SHINTO or Suriage Koto, dark steel, could be koto end of Nambokucho beginning Muromachi suriage blade. Nioi deki will lead to Mino/Bizen rather Mino from the hada.

Thank you. You confirm what I think. Indeed, I think it's a blade that time, perhaps Mino den (Maybe there is shirake utsuri ???). This blade is obviously machi okuri .

IMHO, Shitahara school is possible.

I don't think, it's not enough uzumaki hada and hamon without mura nie. But .... We can't be sure in the state of polished.

Itame-mokume hada, dark steel, gentle tanago-bara nakago, hira-zukuri... My initial thought would be, as Jacques speculates, Shitahara. The darkness of the steel, combined with what seems to be some real age to that tanago-bara nakago, plus the hada...all this points to the bungi era Sengo, Shitahara, Shimada "group," I think. Of course, there were some Mino interactions here, too... I can't make out the hamon well enough to offer an opinion on that aspect... It's a nice blade, though, Kitsune (what's your actual name, please? )... Would love to see it in fresh polish...
