I have seen a few Yasukuni blades and I'm not sure why there are so highly regarded.

 

In fact, most that I have seen (except one) was similiar to this with loose grain and uninspiring hada.

 

I understand the importance of Yasukuni shrine, but aren't these just like other traditionally made gunto? Has anyone seen an exceptional blade from this forge?

 

Perhaps I just haven't seen enough.
