Heringsdorf Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 I just picked up this unique Fuchi Kashira set. I really liked the mix of copper and shakudo on this set. I have never seen this technique before. Does anybody have any examples of this style? 2 Quote
Fuuten Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 No examples Max, sorry. But what a beautiful set! Quote

Barrie B Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Hi Max, Nice set.. There was (is) a really nice Suaka nanako Fuchi/ Kashira where the (inserted) Hosokawa Mons were made of shakudo and the nanako pattern continued throughout.. The owner may care to share... Barrie. Quote
Antti Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Wonderful set! Do you have an idea what school they are from? Yoshioka? Late Goto? Quote
Ford Hallam Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 The fuchi is signed Kenkosai Kazutomo, a student of the Omori school. Quote
Barrie B Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Yes, that was the set I was thinking of. Thanks for posting Dave. From memory, I think I have seen this type of work (with the shakudo Hosokowa MONs inserted and the nanako worked over the whole lot) emulated on a Tsuba as well.. Barrie. Quote

Heringsdorf Posted July 30, 2016 Author Report Posted July 30, 2016 That Tsuba would look great with David's Fuchi kashira set. He probably owns both? Quote
Barrie B Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Antti, Yes that is the Tsuba.. Gorgeous..! Barrie. Quote
Stephen Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Agreed that they would look good together even if not the same mon. Quote
