I have a Nihonto Disho that dates back to the 1600s. I had the tsuka re-wrapped about 10 years ago and lately, the tsuba has become a bit loose. It doesn't really bother me, I was just wondering if its common (I think it is) and whether or not its anything to be concerned about.post-3773-0-95818600-1469413009_thumb.jpgpost-3773-0-36901400-1469413024_thumb.jpgpost-3773-0-48608500-1469413033_thumb.jpg

Look up "seppa," which are used for exactly the purpose of tightening things up on a blade. BTW, your blades are a daisho (dai=large blade, short for daito; sho=small, short for shoto).

Hi and welcome. If an extra brass seppa doesnt fit well another option is leather seppa. Use existing seppa as a stencil then cut it out. If done neatiy it can be effective. Good luck.
