Stephen Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Starting price seems low for a shrine sword, any guesses where this one will end? http://www.aoijapan.com/katana-yagumo-yokota-masatome-sakustamp-of-minatogawa-shrine Quote
pcfarrar Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 This sword was discussed on Facebook it's not a minatogawa smith or sword. Quote
pcfarrar Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Tetsu Kai group, the jist of it is he's from a group of smiths who worked under Amatsu Masakiyo with no connection to the Minatogawa jinja. The kikusi is a later addition. Quote

seattle1 Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Hello: The whole ad is a learning experience, as while it is not a Minatogawa Jinja, that forge having been bombed out months prior, once again the incorrect information is repeated that it carries a Kikusui stamp. They are not stamps, but individually engraved with great care and tight parameters, and the one shown is a crude chiseled example that is hardly at all close to the correct examples.
