Oni Tsuba

Is it possible to take a look (picture) on tsuba with a oni theme?

I know many pictures from museum tsuba with oni on it mostley kinko but i didn't see some from private collections.

Quick observation,

The first one,more than oni,i would say is a Noh Hannya mask,it even have the cords,and it doesn't have fangs, wich are common in Onis

Chris, you can search many on-line collections (images in great quality) at The MFA Boston, The British Museum, The Met,NY,  The Ashmolean, Oxford and many others. There and literally 1000's of images to search through.

For sure Ford but i wonder why so less Tsuba with that motiv is in hands of private collectors. Maybe the most collect iron sukashi tsuba?

Or I'm wrong?

Chris, There are probably a few thousand collectors worldwide and tens of thousands of tsuba in private hands. I've seen dozens of oni on tosogu myself. I can think of at least 3 or 4 on the pieces I have here in my study right now.

My ask was to see some from the members here Ford. Maybe i hasn't find the right words to say what my intention was. 

 I will take your advise and look for the online museum. But if members on this board have some i would be happy to see some of them.

I always wonder what to make of requests to see what's in peoples' collections, without a stated purpose to the request. Are you researching something specific?

I would like to see some Tsuba with Oni motiv nothing more. A friend told me that there are a lot of Oni Tsuba out there but the only ones that i know are in museum around the world. So i think that they are rare in private hands.

Be is in the dealer list. He had two - one used to be mine.

Sorry, it is not a tsuba but an Oni Kurikata...... I can imagine should it be a tsuba
