Darcy Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 I need it. Preferably with matching kashira. This has to fit a sword with a 3.5cm mihaba and is 2.8cm at the nakago at the machi. So I think the long diameter is going to have to be like 4.4cm. Quality good. Don't need anything Juyo. For mounting. If I could find a dragon I'd cry tears of joy. Something that can be seen with dragons and not a complete mismatch is kind of where I am in my despair. Fabbing probably not in the cards due to delivery dates.
mywei Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Yikes those are big measurements.... sounds like it might be a nagamaki naoshi or something. Might be hard to find antique fuchi with those measurements, but you never know I guess Good luck
Taz575 Posted July 2, 2016 Report Posted July 2, 2016 Fred Lohrman has some plain black fuchi/kashira: http://www.Japanese-swords.com/fuchi-gallery/pages/046.htm http://www.Japanese-swords.com/fuchi-gallery/pages/047.htm May be able to have some work done to them or a dragon engraved or inlayed or something?
Barrie B Posted July 2, 2016 Report Posted July 2, 2016 Darcy, I purchased these a few years ago.. They are the biggest F/K I have ever seen, but they are still only 42.5mm x 22mm, although they are 24mm deep..! Large, but you want bigger..! I was after a Satsuma example and these were perfect for that.. I saw a set (almost exactly the same) last year at the DTI selling sold for 180,000 yen.. I thought about buying them, believe me, but I 'had to keep my powder dry'.. so I missed out on them in the end. Anyway, 44mm is big and i wish you all the best in that quest..! Good luck. Barrie.
