SteveM Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 Hi Bruno, I was looking at some Kanzan hakogaki, and I came across this thread from a few years ago. I just wanted to say I don't think that final signature of Kanzan is "Jittoku". I think it just says "Kanzan shirusu" (寒山誌) as he normally signs. The 誌 is a bit stylized but looking at it with fresh eyes I think it is the same signature as he always uses. It may not be of interest to you anymore, but Its something I noticed and I wanted to correct my answer. 3 1 Quote

Kurikata Posted April 2, 2022 Author Report Posted April 2, 2022 Houa Steve and Jean! What a surprise to have you precising the exact meaning of this Hakogaki so many years after the very beginning of this thread. You are so persistant on this forum! Quote

SteveM Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 Wow! For some reason, I didn't expect that. Much more elegant and refined than I expected. My mind had imagined something more rustic. Very nice. Quote
Bazza Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 If I might stick my neck out, it might have looked more rustic if it hadn't been blingified somewhere along the line!!! BaZZa. Quote
Kurikata Posted April 4, 2022 Author Report Posted April 4, 2022 Bazza, probably a more realistic rustic approach of my tsuba..... in real light 2 Quote
Bazza Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 Ahhhhh, Bruno, WOW!! Just shows what a correct White Balance and exposure setting can do for contrast and colour. Bravo!!! It certainly looks a million dollars now. Thanks for showing it. I love it. Best, BaZZa. 1 Quote
