Hi

I am lucky to own a few of Kevin Adam’s tsuba

I keep a record sheet for each of my tsuba including (where known) the school and maker

For Kevin’s tsuba the school is listed as modern which now seems so inadequate

What school name should we give to tsuba made by his Fords students?

It is a serious question especially as we come to expect either himself or his students to take a tosogu medal in every NBSK Craftsman's Competition (if they can afford to compete)

There may be some micky taking or puns from our erudite members which I’m sure Ford will appreciate or smile about.

After a few replies I hope Ford will post his views

I was going to add my own play on words but my brain just exploded

He uses a few different signatures: a sort of sosho-mei and his shudan giri-mei.

I would propose ensō-ryū - 円相流 - but I'm quite certain he already gave this some carefull thought and came up with a more suitable name!

ensō (円相 , "circle") is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.

some years ago i purchased me a Tsuba by Ford....

as it is certainly still one of my highest esteemed and personally best loved ones...i think, i will keep it till the worms did eat me... :)

already in these days i purchased me Ford´s Tsuba...i told him that this will ben tittulatet as a Shodai Hallam by myself...

so yes! "Hallam" or "Hallam-ryu"  would be certainly best to get his works ben written and certified into the next generation Tosogu books... ;-)!

(much better than just these boaring Higo´s....LOL!)

Well then, I guess you just have to stick around. No shedding this mortal coil for you anytime soon then! You're in it for the long haul

Speaking of which....what's the news on the book?
