kissakai Posted June 8, 2016 Report Posted June 8, 2016 Hi I know this should be on the translation and I've no problem if this post is moved I didn't put it on the correct section as in my opinion it has very limited appeal I bought two very nice books from the NMB and I have a query with one below The book was described as Sukashi tsuba but wondered if the title says more? The book is in sections (generally schools) that I've translated but I can't find two of the headings: Heianjô ? 平安城 透鐔 Akasaka ? 赤坂 鐔 後代 Can someone translate these for me? Does anyone know if there a translation for this book? With thanks Grev UK Quote

kissakai Posted June 8, 2016 Author Report Posted June 8, 2016 I forgot one chapter heading would you please translate this one for me? 時 圭 Grev UK Quote
growlingbear Posted June 8, 2016 Report Posted June 8, 2016 I think 時圭 means clock gear, as in tokei tsuba but is written slightly strangely - it is usually written 時計 Does that make sense based on what is in the chapter? James Quote
kissakai Posted June 8, 2016 Author Report Posted June 8, 2016 Hi James Your translation is dead on! I was looking for a school but there is another section that is just called beaded tsuba Many thanks Grev UK Quote
