Carlo,

Currently phpBB doesn't have a save pm's feature unfortunately. I copy the text of each myself and save them as a word doc. Long process, but the best option for backing up before cleaning the inbox, outbox, and sent box (good thing to do regularly)

The new version of phpBB3 (which will be released oneday :) ) has a new option of backing up pms, so we just have to wait for the final version so that I can upgrade the board. They don't have an estimated time of release yet though.

Hi Carlo, This might help everyone who wants to do this . I save any page by using Acrobat. My toolbar has a button "save page in PDF" and sometimes I will save the page by 'select all' 'copy' 'paste' to word file. John

Hi Peter, Does that not connect you to the internet everytime you access it? That is if you are online 24/7 like most providers are now. John

No it caches the webpage completely in the MHT file. I've built up quite a library of oshigata from webpages using it

Vista does have some very useful features, the main one being the search and indexing. Using search I can find a specific phrase in my library of information/emails/documents instantly. Extremely useful and the main reason why I wouldn't go back to XP.

I'll have to check what has been released now. However at the bottom of your messages page, you can export all of your pm's to 3 different formats. Granted they are not as convenient to work with, being Excel or XML based, but they will back up all of your pm's from that folder.

Remember to delete old pm's to free up space, and especially old sent ones. Also, you can backup old pm's to newly created folders, within a limit of 3 or 4 folders IIRC.
