John A Stuart Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Hi All, My son just got back from an oil show in Calgary. I asked if he had free time to take some pics of the samurai part of the Arms and Armour exhibit at the Glenbow Museum. He is about as bad at photography as I but with a little photoshop they are not too horrible. I don't know if these yoroi are published but thought you all might be interested. John Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Mmm... Thanks for the photos John. Stuff like that used to scare me, and I couldn't see what people saw in it, but I suppose it was designed to scare the enemy as much as anything. I like some of those bits! In piccie 2 the armor/armour is seated on a shogi. That's given me an idea to sit mine on a very nice shogi I bought a while back! (The wife might not be too happy...) Quote
IanB Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 John, Thanks for the pictures. Calgary have some nice items, which I have never seen in the flesh but have always wanted to. Pity the kuwagata on the omodaka laced do-maru are wrong way round. It is nice to see the labelling of parts diagram that was originally used by H. Russell-Robinson for a Royal Armouries exhibition in the 1960's is still going strong. Ian Quote
Carlo Giuseppe Tacchini Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Thanks for the pics John. No catalogue ? Quote
