Paleo_joe Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 I bought these Japanese sword reference books at an estate sale. Can anyone tell what the titles translate to? They look great in my living room but I would like to know more. Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide! Best regards, Joe 1 Quote
b.hennick Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 The first set is Fujishiro's koto and Shinto set worth $300-400. Quote
DirkO Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 The first two are commonly referred to as Fujishiro's (authors name) - It's a Shinto and a Koto volume. They're very handy and a must have imo :-) Well done. Third one is Nihonto Yogo Jiten (I think?) And the last one Yushu To Zuruko by the NTHK Quote
Paleo_joe Posted April 29, 2016 Author Report Posted April 29, 2016 Thanks so much for the info so far! There is nothing better in the world than finding a forum of experts -- you all rock! These are worth $$ so I guess my wife will have to start learning to live with out them. I think I will put the Fujishiro Koto and Shinto over in the for sale section here and try and save some ebay fees. 1 Quote
Paleo_joe Posted April 29, 2016 Author Report Posted April 29, 2016 The green book is paperbound and contains a bunch of full-size fold-out drawings of swords. Quote
Jussi Ekholm Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Green book is Meito Oshigata Shu - Koto 1 You got some excellent books there, very nice score. 1 Quote
Paleo_joe Posted April 29, 2016 Author Report Posted April 29, 2016 Thank you so much! I have or will have all these listed in the for sale section if anyone is interested. I enjoy placing fine things in the hands of those who treasure them. I bought these books purely on their quality, not knowing anything about the titles, they're that nice. As I'm sure you all know. Thanks to everyone again!! Quote
