Oshigata Making

Hi Everyone,

 

I am thinking of trying my hand at Oshigata making. Does any one know if there is a place in the UK where I can get correct paper and Sekkaboku (ink stone)? Thank you all in advance.

After lots of looking and trials I gave up trying to find something suitable and ending up buying mine from Japan (via someone else).

I know others have successfully used alternative materials but to be honest they just didnt work for me.

I think that is who my friend gets mine from. I can confirm it is fit for purpose and in the right hands can give excellent results (Now all I need to do is find the right hands )

Just be very patient, Stephen. It does take awhile to get your hand to communicate with what you are seeing in your blade....
