found this at ebay. seems verymuch as ch. fake. He says but everything is original. Also his Tsuba, but it is obvious, I think.

Thanks Stephen, I'm not expirienced and the dealer said he is from Japan and all his stuff too, but his name is chinese and don't answer anymore....

It's very fake.

Whenever you see that acid etched blatant damascus type pattern, you should already be thinking fake.

You will see a lot of this in the fake sword links above.

That handle wrapping is also a dead give-away, and is very poorly done.

The nakago is terrible, and the kanji look like nonsense to me.

 

I have never seen a genuine Nihonto with "cowskin" in the auction title..but plenty of fakes. I use it as one of my many filters to filter out repros.

Stay far away from this sword and this seller. I seriously doubt he is in Japan.

Again, a very late posting from me because of my recent arrival on this forum.

 

Not only is this eBay dealer selling awful Chinese fakes, but he's also really angered Tomoyuki Ohmura san (the Japanese gunto expert) by stealing the photo of the kai-gunto and cap from his site!
