Bruce Pennington Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Guys, I'm interested in picking up this variant of the Type 95 (2b I think?), but this one has a copper fuchi with stamps. Ohmura's example has the black painted steel fuchi. I'm on the road and don't have my F&G or my Dawson. Anyone recall seeing legit Type 95 variants like this with copper fuchi? Quote
obiwanknabbe Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 if i remember correctly.. the copper handled one is the rarer variant, is it not? kurt k Quote
charlie1 Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Matched it up with my NCO with the same stamps, copper fuchi, and only 6000 off in the serial number. Spot on match correct. Charlie 1 Quote
Stephen Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 not the early copper, plus ser # too high for that Quote
lonely panet Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 nothing special, just the run of the mill type 95. painted aluminium handle, with plian iron tsuba. made by Iijima factory. FYI early copper handled version, there tsuba is approx. 11mm thick and very noticeable regards H Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted March 21, 2016 Author Report Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks Charlie and Hamfish! I'm going for it! Stephen and Curt - only the fuchi is copper, the handle is aluminum. thanks guys! Quote
Shamsy Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 100% legitimate. There are 2 variant. Notice the latch piercing the seppa. Other variant is off slightly. Jim Dawson records these two as a kind of sub model. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted March 23, 2016 Author Report Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks Shamsy! I found what you are talking of in my Dawson. Looks Ok! Quote
