bchboy1206 Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 I just purchased this sword and the seller said it was made by Kanemichi, 2 million yen swordsmith who worked in the Gifu prefecture during WW2. It seems like a quality blade and has a very nice hamon that I couldn't capture in the pics. Sorry, I am not very good at taking pictures yet! Can anyone verify this signature? Thanks in advance Jim Quote
jason_mazzy Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 seki stamp generally indicates a non traditional blade 1 Quote
george trotter Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Mei says Seki ju Kanematsu Kanetatsu Saku.. Ordinary WWII Showato blade...not Kanemichi. His real name is Kanemura Tatsuo and he started as a gunto swordsmith in Seki on 26th Oct 1939. Hope this helps. 1 Quote
