This may have been here before, but I like it a lot so here goes- top is a 1941 Yasushige, in “high class” T98 mounts. Lower is an unsigned late koto blade used for the war in good mounts and leather cover.

:lipssealed: don’t tell my typical nanbochuko group they’ve been replaced on the kake.

Freshly polished Nagamitsu, pics coming soon. Hada was surprised to find mokume some which go into the shinoji, hamon activity is awesome, even found slight traces of hakikake in the ko-maru boshi.

Private order Nagamitsu? May I ask who did the polish? Looking forward to see the photos?

Thanks!

Katana side, think I am figuring out pics, lol. I asked him about that and he said he wanted to make the ji clear and leave it as in his opinion, and that of his teachers. Hamon to come next maybe... hope you enjoy as much as I do. Looks 100x better in hand.

A (Kawashima) TADAYOSHI, shodai, 1st generation. No date, with a long 67cm Nagasa blade. What is there not to like about a fairly mint

blade/koshirae outfit. Blade is ubu ba, with a lot of life left in it.

I bet the officer in WW2 got a lot of pleasure every time he pulled it out.

When it comes to collecting and studying WW2 Gendai swords, in my humble opinion, a Gunto with Horimono is one of the "Holy Grails" of the era.

Here is a 1935 KANETOKI (later to become KANEMICHI). In early gloss lacquered mounts, with some red/brown paint of the time, still evident on the fittings. With a 67cm Nagasa, it is both beautiful and powerful.

A special order sword for Lord Tsukaharu, must have cost the Lord a pretty penny in its day.
