Look at it as 3 characters.

 

Tomo +  (?)  +   a Kao [maker's mark]

 

Off the top of my head, don't know what is the 2nd character.

Steve or Markus [the Wunderkinderen] will probably nail it down before I even finish typing this.

Wakayama's reference tells me his real last name was Yamamoto, that he worked in Nagasaki, and that he continued working until the Meiji era. He also signed as Munehide (宗英), and was a student of Tomohide (友英).

If this was bought from KLEFISCH (lot 500, Auction 91) they added the following information:

                     TOMONARI (H 10010) had been working in Hamano style.
