Griffero Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 That period is? Kyoto or osaka ? 1 2 3 generation ? Quote
CSM101 Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Hi Carlos, sorry to say so, but it is just a fake. Uwe G. Quote
Griffero Posted November 19, 2015 Author Report Posted November 19, 2015 There are more blacksmiths..... PD: Is Wakizashi short , not Katana Quote
CSM101 Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Okay, it is a wakizashi. But if you compare the first kanji, then you will see, it is not even close to your sword. And the photo of the blade is a sudareba hamon. A hamon Tamba was famous for. And I don´t see any of this in yours. In Fujishiro I can´t find a matching signature. Hence: gimei. Uwe G. Quote
Griffero Posted November 19, 2015 Author Report Posted November 19, 2015 This one is another mei......Also it is false? Quote
CSM101 Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Carlos, just send it to Japan and get papers. Uwe G. Quote
Fuuten Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Or try some searching and or reading.. Quote
Kazee21 Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Or buy from the reputable members and dealers here... Quote
Jacques Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Carlos and Uwe show an Oshigata from the Osaka Yoshimichi lineage while the one discussed here should be from the Yamashiro branch. 1 Quote
DirkO Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 This one is another mei......Also it is false? No this is in my opinion Osaka-Tamba 3rd generation, but then again, that is my blade :-) (currently being polished) Yours doesn't match any of the Kyo-Tamba smiths I have on file. I don't think the mei is correct, but I'll have a look through my books when I get home. Quote
Griffero Posted November 20, 2015 Author Report Posted November 20, 2015 Which is the price for the katanas of the blacksmith ( Tamba no Kami yoshimichi ) ??? PD: I won the BID 1000 Us and the owner he does not like to sell so cheaply Quote
paulb Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 If this sword was authentic then $1000 would be very cheap assuming the condition is reasonable. Yoshimichi (all of them) are regarded as leading members of the mishina school and their work valued by collectors of that school. the fact you got it so cheaply means either: a) you are very lucky b- It is not an authentic Yoshimichi c)There is something wrong with it. Depends how lucky you think you are regards Paul Quote
Griffero Posted November 20, 2015 Author Report Posted November 20, 2015 Bid 1000us-3000us I won the bid 1000us I find nice and original Katana ... but not if blacksmith is 100 % pd: ANTIQUE DISCUSION http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/18017-my-new-katana-help-questions/ pd2: Link Buy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japones-Wakizashi-Sword-Antiguos-Firmados-Tamba-no-Kami-yoshimichi-/262109230206?hash=item3d06ed747e%3Ag%3ALnwAAOSw14xWKq5u&nma=true&si=baQuxIqGGkkQBRFyXKEToLYojH0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Quote
DirkO Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Here's a side by side of your signature compared to the 1st 6 generations (papered authenticated examples). All the signatures are saying the same thing, but see how each has their own little peculiarities?I'm sorry to say that the signature on your blade, doesn't even come close to these. You can always send it to Japan for authentication papers, I'll gladly be proven wrong! Quote
Stephen Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Carlos You got what you paid for, i see no major kizu, the sum of all parts are at least 1000$; A ok Wakzashi for the price. Dont buy shoshin for that price as stated above Quote
Griffero Posted November 20, 2015 Author Report Posted November 20, 2015 This signature is = to my Katana Quote
paulb Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Carlos I hope you dont think your blade matches the example you have put up. The kanji are the same but stylisitcally there is no comparison. As Steven said You got what you paid for regards Paul Quote
Stephen Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 Im sure its translation but once more you have a WAKIZASHI Not a KATANA Quote
