nihonto1001 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Usually I find WWII swords from the woodwork, but this was nice for a change. It is a typical clunker, but with some fairly nice tosogu. Thought I would share it here. Thoughts & opinions welcomed. The blade is full of black corrosion but looks of good quality as well. Quote
Greg F Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 I too like the tsuba. It looks like it wouldnt weigh much. Congrats. Greg 1 Quote

nihonto1001 Posted October 21, 2015 Author Report Posted October 21, 2015 Stephen, The menuki appear to be of lesser quality. This is not consistent with the rest of the koshirae; gold foil seppa, nice kogatana... The tsuka maki appears to be younger. So, maybe the Menuki Oni got the originals. I will have to take a closer look to judge. It would be nice to find a fully intact original koshirae, a true rarity these days. Quote
