Ed Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 Ford, While having been told that in the past, I was never able to find anyone with the credentials to substantiate the claim that kin-sabi was an indicator of "solid" gold or greater age. Thank you for the input, for all of your input. It is greatly appreciated. 1 Quote
Ford Hallam Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Cheers Ed , my book, which has morphed into an encyclopedia, will hopefully provide a reasonably reliable introduction to metals and alloys as used in Japan in the past. Quote
Heringsdorf Posted October 7, 2015 Author Report Posted October 7, 2015 Hello Ford, Is your book out? Quote
Ron STL Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 As was said earlier, an amazing number of gold menuki have surfaced here. While not my most important set (that being "round dragons" by Goto Tokujo) this daisho set depicting dragonfly are certainly favorites of mine. Hozon to Kyo kinko which would put them as late Edo. I couldn't resist them when seeing them on Nihonto.com (Fred Weissberg) and finally in-hand. Ron STL Quote
