manfrommagnum Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Just wondering why there are not more ornate daisho tsuba out there for a tanto. Especially Mino or similar works. What am i missing? Quote
ROKUJURO Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Perhaps because a DAISHO in EDO JIDAI normally consisted of a DAI (KATANA) and a SHO (WAKIZASHI). DAISHO consisting of a TACHI and a TANTO from KAMAKURA JIDAI are rare, as far as I know. 1 Quote
Brian Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 And I bet way back then, many of the tanto were mounted without tsuba or with very small undecorated ones. Quote
