Marius
A ko-tosho tsuba with wachigai (intersecting circles) and snow flake sukashi. A large and imposing tsuba that would find a place in any serious early tsuba collection. The plate show evidence of folding and hammer marks (see pictures). The surface has original patina and has not been (over)cleaned like so many tsuba. The hitsu ana must is either original to the design or it must have been added a long time ago. Not easy to find them so large, that size always commands a premium A classic tsuba for a very low price. I would not sell it for that money, were not for a planned purchase. However, as always with my sales, please do not expect this offer to last long. I will take it down after a few days, so act now if you like it. I will publish measurements later, but this tsuba is close to or slightly above 9 cm, with 2.5 mm thickness. Muromachi, 15th c. $495 incl. global shipping, PayPal fee extra. (Shipping to Japan will require additional costs, sorry).
