kusunokimasahige Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Today I saw on facebook that Eric Roush is still active. Several friends of mine were defrouded by this character. What concerns and disturbs me however is that many people of note from the sword world befriended this hack. Here is the link to his facebook page :https://www.facebook.com/eric.roush.14DO NOT DEAL with this man. You will lose money. KM Quote

Brian Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 If someone is going to be labelled a scam artist (and I know we have had these comments before) then please pm me with details and proof for the records, when the inevitable fallout occurs. I am also curious as to why self taught and inferior polishers are befriended by the likes of Mike Yamasaki, Chris Osborne, Fujishiro Okisato, Nakamura San, and others? Brian 1 Quote
Jean Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Very good question Brian and the only answer is that people, in certain fields, don't think before clicking..... Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted August 14, 2015 Report Posted August 14, 2015 Brian, Eric Roush had a blade that belonged to one of my sword club members back when I was president. After 13 months, Roush had neither polished the blade, nor would he return the money OR the blade. As a former federal LEO, I had an agent friend of mine pay him a visit, & physically collect both money & blade to return to the member. I then warned Roush that if he EVER did business again in Hawaii, & I found out about it, he'd be doing some hard time. He moved within the next month, & it's been hard to track him down without a federal warrant. Yes, he's a scam artist, & I see no reason to PM this information. Ken 6 Quote
nihonto-do Posted August 14, 2015 Report Posted August 14, 2015 Hi guys! I want to talk my story. July 5, 2013 I and my friend from America sent this master (Eric Roush) three items to polish. Payment is made at once. Polisher (Eric Roush) not do work. My money is not returned. On my letters and phone calls stopped responding. And swords are not returned despite requests and entreaties. Only with the help of very serious people swords returned to me in March 2014. Swords returned without polishing. Money polisher did not return. Quote

cuttingedge59 Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 Gentleman, This guy is seriously not the full monty and has a very high opinion of his abilities. As an novice and accumilator rather than a collector i am a little unsure as to who the people are mentioned in the above threads but would like to think that like many others have learned by their mistakes as i have done. Roush had an item of mine of small value that he promised to repair and return which didnt happen , surprise surprise . At the time another person in NZ contacted me after noticing my flaming comments on facebook and here and informed me that Roush had two of his swords for restoration for over three years. Having little joy with the local legal system ( very difficult when you live miles away ) we engaged a local PI who found Roush in No time and successfully retrieved our items . If anyone has items with this very deluded individual I would be more than happy to pass on contact details for the PI . Ps i have noticed some E-bay sellers listing items which would seem to have a signature Roush polish . Chris NZ. 1 Quote
Greg F Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 imo hopefully one day he will cross the wrong person and be rendered unable to do such things to trusting people, If he is as bad as he sounds. Good on you Ken for standing up for people that need the help. It sucks that there is somebody out there with no honor getting their hands on cherished blades. Dishonesty is a discusting weakness. Art Torano Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Brian, The picture of one of my swords is on his website. It's Bizen-to with a multi color green and black sageo. The picture does not do justice to the awful job he did. I ended sending it back to Japan for a proper polish. Anything he says can in no way can be believed. I have endured the shame of my bad choice. Don't allow any of our members to make the same mistake if it can be helped. I do deal with many of the vendors and artisans from NMB and had not had a bad experience. Art Torano Quote
