Ichi Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 The list of sword dealers that will participate in the coming Dai Token Ichi are out. Sorry, it's all in Japanese. Our friend Robert Huges' Keichodo is out there again at the world's premier exhibition. FYI. http://www.zentosho.com/daitoichi.html Quote
Rich T Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 thanks Erol, there is a corker of an Owari at Yashima listed. Very nice. Also I noted a very nice Bizen Norimutsu tachi in court koshirae. and here is a whole page of fun for Curran if he is tuned in. http://www.zentosho.com/7-20.html Rich Quote
Pete Klein Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 http://www.zentosho.com/7-17.html Rich -- if this is the one you are referring to it's #149 from the Sasano collection book 'Masterpieces'. Sasano wrote, 'Akiyama Kyusaku's (1844 - 1936) statement that, from the swordsman's viewpoint, no other school can meet the standard of Owari guards is particularly relevant when applied to this piece'. It's magnificent. Quote
Curran Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Wow. I've been feeling a bit the nihonto pauper recently, with a long standing bill soon coming due. Looking at the Tadamitsu and the Umetada, hmmm. Only moths in the wallet. Humbling. Rich- please take nice photos. Travel well. Curran Quote
