Jimmy R Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Okay, here is another post looking for any information on A koshirae I have had for some time now. It is covered in insects and is solid silver. Any ideas what school this might be? The work is very fine in hand but I have not seen anything quite like it. Jim Quote
kaigunair Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 what's on the koiguchi? If not another wasp, I'd guess a butterfly, cricket, katydid and mantis, in that order. I've read that when tosogu depict insects, the variety of insets can represent the various classes of society. Ground work is interesting, and the insects seem more detailed that typical mino work. Definitely a nicer than average set. Can you share the tsuba that's attached to this quaint koshirae? Quote
Jimmy R Posted July 21, 2015 Author Report Posted July 21, 2015 The Tsuka is wrapped in a very nice piece of Samegawa. Unfortunately there were no Menuki or Tsuba. The Tsuba on it is Shoami of a Ken design. Jim Quote
