Gentlemen:

Any assistance translating the nakago is appreciated.   I have tried, but could not get anywhere with these scripted Kanji Symbols.   Please help with a translation of the gold inscription on the nakago of this sword, no other marks are present on the nakago.  The koshirae is early Shin-Gunto, leather over metal saya, with a pierced tsuba, and two piece silver foil habaki.   The sword is suriage with one mekugi-ana.  the cutting edge is 26 3/8 inches with a sori of 3/4 inch.

Thanks

Edward G

Robert Mormile & Sword Guy Joe, Thank You both for your effort....I appreciate the information.  It will be interesting to see how a Shinsa team will evaluate the sword and estimate the age of this specimen.

Thank You both again.  This is very interesting.
