Hello all,

I'm relatively new at collecting Nihonto and Tosogu.

Recently I came across this Tsuba daisho set, I rather likethe mokume style.

It's signed Sanei with kao.

What is some of the experienced forum members opinion on this set? Is this in good condition, patina...

Also any info on the maker would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.

I agree with Thomas, a lovely set and seem to be a genuine pairing rather than an associated pair with similar designs as so often seen.

All the best

Mei looks very close to the bottom right picture so probably good for shinsa. Picture is from Wakayama, 'Toso Kodogu Meijei Taikei', Vol III, pg. 162. The other two are from Haynes. Sorry about the distortions but Haynes Index is a bit difficult to scan.
