Matthew Jensen Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 I have been working on a katana fitting set for a while now. I am looking for a good sized fuchi/kashira set that has a mitsudomoe theme on it. I would like it to match or work with the tsuba/menuki I already have. They are shown in the photo. The only restriction I have is that the fuchi needs to be 39.5mm-41mm long to accomidate the blade I am going to mount them to. I would like to get something from the edo period and I am guessing that is all my budget will allow. I would also consider getting a kojiri, kurikata, and koiguchi if they are available in the same theme. I don't have an exact budget in mind but I would like to keep it under $500 all said and done. (for the fuchi/kashira anyway) If you have anything please let me know. Matt J. Krunangree@gmail.com
Matthew Jensen Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 I picked up this Fuchi recently. I sure could use a kashira to go with it. 33mm-37mm wide. If anyone has a mitsudomoe theme kashira to match or another set please let me know.
tony edmunds Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 You could use a horn kashira with fuchi either with or without shitodomes, quite common in Edo period mounts.
