He has withdrawn all his listings for quite some time now.

Is he out of Business or is he just not selling on ebay any longer?

Eric is one of only a few respectable dealers with high quality items on evilbay.

Eric is still active, but his partner Carmen Altomonte seems to be gone. I bought several blades from Carmen, & had a good experience.

Iv never done business with Eric, but he did have a nice range of items in great condition. but his price's were by no means reasonable.

 

I don't know how many people would go on ebay, looking to spend big dollars, I feel its more a bargin hunt rather than paying retail with out being able to handle the item.

 

I did see that he sold a mint Ishin Mantetsu gunto for $4000 plus, that was a eyebrow raiser. some wanted it bad

He does usually set his prices high, but in my experiences, he's always willing to talk about a more inline price and is really good to deal with.

In summary, he's a knowledgeable seller who for the most part is good to deal with, but knows his stuff and good stuff ain't cheap. That about cover it?

Hes the one who I bought a sword off and he admitted to overlooking the poor condition it was in due to his "high volume of sales", so I had to pay around $100 to ship it back to him for a refund.

In my opinion anyone with a bit of self respect would have covered the return shipping. All he tried to do was offer me something else instead. What makes it worse was that I messaged him first to double check its condition, so he didn't even care enough to check it properly.

As I have said before, every single seller has his hiccups and people who are unhappy with a deal. All I can say is at least he did refund you. Many sellers are not that ethical.

But of course everyone needs to use their own discretion.

From what i have seen, he has a lot of high end customers, and sells to the people who are not novices. The times I have met him he has been on a mission to look for stock. Not really the chit-chat type

Feel odd discussing people here in public like this, but I am sure he is aware of the thread and understands that the community needs a place to get references on those they deal with. I would recommend him if you know your pricing.
