Hello,

today I had privilege to open some of the swords fron National museum Slovenia. Swords are not in public display and they were hidden in depot from around 1960. There are no ID's for this swords, only invetory numbers. Also swords had been exposed to electrolysis to preven rust when arrived, so damage was done back than. I make three pictures of 3 nakagos with signatures.. As I am still in process of learning to read kanjis, I will be very happy if somebody help with translation. At least we will return it's names to ID...Today they had been also profesionaly photographed, so if any interest here for help in reserch I can post complete high resolution studio pictures...but it is not good for the hart, to see blades from electolysys...

Here are my attempts to read:

1. .......? last two... Kaneyoshi?

2. Kanenobu?,

3. Kanenaga saku?

As there are no rust on nakagos, it will be wery dificult to determinated the age...

Thank you very much for helping,

Best regards,

Bojan S.

Bojan:

Difficult to tell but what does the temperline look like?  Does it seem that the blade itself was affected by the electrolysis?  If we could pin down a region then maybe we could deduce a date range...  A photo of the overall sugata of the blade would help assign an approximate date.

Thank you.
