SwordGuyJoe Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 All, I am looking for a daito by a student of Kasama Shigetsugu, Morioka Masataka. He was a nephew of Morioka Masayoshi and also studied under Sadatsugu. Any help would be ideal. I have scoured Japanese and English Language sites. Japan has some Iai blades and Seiyudo had two, one of which I was interested in but sold before I could pick it up - the listed for 700,000 yen, I'm not interested in. He signed NANKAI TAROU MASATAKA. Thanks in advance.
BIG Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 Hi Joe, member Martin Strebel Sells One: Item 660 http://www.juwelier-strebel.de/asien-kunst/Japan/katana.html Best Regards
leo Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 Thank, you, Peter for the recommendation. It seems, you got up early today for a Saturday! This sword is a commission sale. Interesting thing is that the sayagaki is a certificate to confirm that this blade was forged by Masataka using old iron from the Narita temple. Best, Martin
