Ray Singer Posted July 21, 2016 Author Report Posted July 21, 2016 On my first trip to Japan Tsuruta-san showed me this massive, beautiful Yoshimune that was a contest winning sword in the 1930s. It must have been 71cm with a wide mihaba. One of my all time favorite gendaito. Agree with Brian's comment, the Hiromasa is looking great. kyushukairu Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Hello Ray,You may like to know that the theme of your Goto tsuba is 'setsubun', which is a spring festival. The old man on the omote is throwing 'mame' or beans to ward off demons, which is represented on the ura with the kanji 'oni'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setsubun Quote
