Bernard Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Dear All, Here are two kogo (about 6 cm.) my father purchased in 1960 in Paris. The hatchig chick (Raku ?) is said ex-Vever collection. I think that Okame is bizen. I presume that they are old, but I don't know how much, nor if they are contemporaneous. Any opinion ? Bernard D Quote
Fuuten Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Kogo are for incense. They look around 100 years orso. The Okame kogo is quite nice! The first one doesn't scream raku to me, but could be. I must say i never saw a kogo like that one before. Quote
John A Stuart Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 I am not familiar with the term kogo, but, 香炉 kouro is a common term for censer. These are nice little censers, I would term 民芸 mingei. John Quote
Stephen Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 would be great for roasting Garlic...if ovenproof Quote
