That looks remarkably good for something made in China. As you say still plenty of issues but thats close enough to fool a lot of people.

I do not think I have ever seen a Mantetsu blade that did not have a suguha hamon, lets hope that's correct and they haven't figured that one out yet.

I like this thread,

 

an chinese made copying of a sword that was made in china 60-70 year earler.

do these people have a soul? but they do have a good sence of humour.

 

looks clay tempered too.

The easy catch is the date. ALL Mantetsu swords use the zodiacal dating system. This one does not. Also it is lacking the outward, diamond shaped, flaring of the mune above the boshi (i do not know the actual term if someone can clue me in).
