YOJIMBO Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Hello. My friend has an interest in this saber. Is it authentic or some copy ? I can not help him. In this area, I have no idea. I ask you of the opinion / comment. Maybe the seller is one of you. Thanks for the answers. http://www.ebay.de/itm/261760552318?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Quote
Geraint Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Hi Simon. Looks like a normal parade sabre to me........... The images are not the best, nor is the description, not sure where the search and rescue idea comes from, but I can't see anything wrong with it for what it is. Anyone else see something else? All the best. Quote
reeder Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Looks ok IMO, these can be had in the $100-$150 range in the states. Quote
YOJIMBO Posted February 26, 2015 Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 Thank you for comments. Is this saber group gunto ? or just for show ? I do not know really nothing about this group, maybe so sorry for stupid questions. Quote
Kai-Gunto Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Its a "copy" of the kyu-gunto( has real blades) made for parade use. Quote

lonely panet Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 have a close look at the brass wire binding, the smaller braiding has been replaced at some point in the past, the scabbard has been over buffed or rechromed. the blade shows no sign of a artificial hamon, and the gilt looks to bright to me. if it were me I would run in the opposite direction. its best to collect the items you like in the best condition possible and there are heaps to choose from in better original condition regards H Quote
